I prefer to travel with my points and stay anywhere I want for free. 

It was interesting to see they scraped review data and saw where travelers mentioned driving from the most to build this list along with metro city growth. 

However through my research i keep coming across this term sneaky duplex where people turn there basements into a unit or block off part of there house to turn into a separate unit. my plan is to use the basement for traveling nurses because you would already have the water and power turned on for them "house is 5 minutes away from the hospital", live in the upstairs for a year and possible house hack one of the rooms.

@Eric Sato My experience in that area suggests that Mid-term rentals (travelling nurses) may be the next best option.

My first guest checks in November 1st, and I'm planning to travel to the property next month and start preparations.

Think traveling nurses—they often need a place for 1-3 months and need fully furnished spaces.

I’m looking at a duplex and running half as STR and the other as mid-term for travel nurses.

What's great abut this is MTR is very tough to get shut down by local municipalities and believe it or not North Jersey attracts a huge verity of people looking for mid term whether its through work, moving or extended traveling.

I travel 1-2 weeks out of every month so at this property i want i  can have two roommates anyway to help cover the mortgage.
