Then they say vague comments that hint at their assumption that you're rich and how they are jealous of this apparent fact.Sorry your family was not only not supportive, but quite harsh in their response.

Sorry, don't mean to be harsh but I am taken aback at what you wrote.  

As I sweated my butt off and they watched me, they acquired a renewed respect for me and those harsh landlord/tenant lines seemed to fade away.

A flurry bought end of 21, top of 22, so they're facing a harsh(er) reality.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but being all-in at $108,000 plus closing costs plus assignment fee for a house that rents for $1000 is a terrible, terrible deal for a buy and hold investor.  

I know these comments are harsh, but the truth is whole life policies are easily the highest commission products in the business, by the time you pay the fees and the penalties, the buyers are getting ripped off.ALL to take a loan out on your OWN money. 

(I'm not saying this to be harsh as I'm the process of cleaning up my portfolio at this point; the simple truth is that big SFRs really do not make good rentals, at least in my area.)
