The property to the right has been rehabbed but years ago and in front of the property is a well kept large parking lot to a church.

Your gym, church, work people need to know what you do.  

If you have an apartment building and the person who manages it would do marketing, for example, and put some wording which might be discriminatory - you're in trouble.The words might sound pretty innocent for you, for example:"nice apartment for a family", "walking distance to the shopping", "close to the church of XYZ".

If you're looking for more affordable properties, some of the "sketchier" areas of Church Hill, Brookland Park, etc. have some deals to be found.  

Rather, we're very involved in our church and end up giving a fair bit away.

At the request of our pastors, I started and currently manage a post-secondary bible college for our church in cooperation with Life Christian University in south Florida to provide bible education for those interested in working in building their bible knowledge or working in the ministry.

I know many people were excited about the growth there, but from what I've heard from several small business owners and churches in the area, things aren't picking up as expected.
