Most people make investments and all financial decisions based on past experience, childhood upbringing, gut feel.  

That may also mean places you have spent large amounts of time, childhood city, parents city, etc.

Not that being bad with money makes someone a bad person; but it tells a story about their childhood, life experiences, personality, goals, etc.

Obviously, our goal is to create wealth, but this deal had the added bonus of both working with a childhood friend and adding value to the community we grew up in. 

Not sure how much the rehab will be but if it is reasonable for a rental unit then my company would be interested in taking on the project and giving the rental proceeds to a charity for childhood cancer research.
