And contractors can be honest 99 times and then dishonest for 1.It's common sense to get more than one estimate until you have an established relationship.But don't take my opinion for it.

There are a lot of dishonest agents out there.  

For instance, like when a small business owner will let the crazy cat guy post a flyer of his missing cat on the front door without a second thought while conversely, the big corporate stores have thought-out and decided-on policies and protocols against such small community interactions/sentiments...found that out this week.

Also, there are a few very dishonest agents in my area who will lie, I do everything I can to communicate via text/email with these agents.

The guest was brazenly dishonest.  

I can't bear disappointing a seller who is relying on me to help them.I recommend getting a Real Estate License and then you can list people's homes and make money without needing to be dishonest.  

When you keep getting beat it has the feeling that something dishonest is going on even if its not. 

@John Thedford Please dont feel compelled to lump all wholesalers into one bucket of dishonest crooks, there is no reason for this.
