At my apartment complex, we would typically require a payment within 30 days after move-out.

The learning curve will be steep, but my longer-term goal is to be purchasing apartment complexes large enough to support on-site property management, leasing agent, handyman, etc., so I figure get used to the commercial real estate business and help myself get to my long-term goal a bit faster. 

Has anybody dealt with somebody selling a multi family complex that has tied in their personal expenses.

@Kathryn Daniel @George Skidis do you know if any of those laws apply specifically to single unit rentals, larger complexes, or all types?

This is an enormously complex, difficult arena with a hundred issues.
