Title and escrow are so hyper vigilant about wire fraud that it might be easier to get checks, assuming you don't need the money right away.

So, for example, if we finished replacing the roof, I'd make a request to release funds and the inspector would verify the roof was completed and appeared to have been done correctly.

Remember, the longer the holding period the easier it is to prove that you had the intent to hold for rental or investmetn purposes.
