In our older Queen Anne, Second Empire and Victorian vintage properties trim is frequently finished with shellac (or since coated w/ urethane), but where it is painted, the period calls for high-gloss.

They will only ever be 'fun' lighting.The main lighting will be provided by cans in part of the kitchen area, and standard lamp and fans in the main areas.

I noticed the color differences when I installed it, but after finishing the entire floor and throwing a coat of mop and glo on it looks fine.All in all, I'm a fan of the IsoCore and I'd use it again.

You can look at some items and generally say that a tile floor will have less frequent cap-ex replacement costs than a carpet floor.  

I'm a big fan of that look.

I am not really a fan of darker colors on smaller houses; I feel it makes them seem smaller.
