My parents were investors who always focused on short term flips..

My parents have successfully had a rental in the neighborhood for 30 years with almost no vacancy and rented almost 100% of the time to students from this school.

Obviously I have to look for houses that are maybe between 60-70K as my uncle is a contractor and said he would help me out and I'm very handy as well and I have some extra money on the side and my parents for backup funds.

Its were parents supplement the incomes of there adult children.

In Indiana, withholding rent because of repairs is not allowed and you could still evict for non-payment.

I have a good paying job and my parents keep bugging me about going off to get my masters and stepping up the career ladder as opposed to dealing with the "headache" of managing flips and landlording.

I am currently working two jobs just to make ends meet and still live with my parents at 25 yesrd old.
