My $# at first was really low (nothing) because I was desperate to get out of the cubicle and my 1+ hour each way commute.  

@Mike Fletcher , desperate times call for desperate measures.

I low ball everyone and only buy from desperate sellers paying all cash.

Another thing that changes, is that we have redefined 'emergencies' to mean the REAL ones (like a desperately wanted vacation doesn't qualify as an 'emergency': if we wanted that we would sooner find a cheap/ free alternative to get the benefits of vacation, etc. )I strongly encourage anyone that does not yet save on a consistent basis to start with 10% (or another percentage amount) and see what happens.

If you're really desperate to give away your hard earned money, then go ahead and sign up for a guru.

I damn near lost everything I worked for in the 08 recession, to the point where I was running a chainsaw on a forestry crew while my pregnant wife waited for foreclosure notices to show up on our door.While desperately trying to dig ourselves out of the hole WE DUG OURSELVES INTO, my brother and mom would constantly reach out for financial help.

Oh and these deals will come, don’t be desperate and try to jump on something that’s too good to be true, just be patient, it’ll happen!
