., I actually built an automation hack with a product called Automate.io alongside Google Calendar and Mailchimp. 

I agree on the "one software does all" will leave holes and tend to be very rigid... question: are you using any "integration" or "workflow" software that automates your business processes in-between Apps ?

Our other advantage is I'm a software engineer with experience in transaction software and automation.

I use Samsung Smartthings to tie everything together and also use Rental Lock Automator (RLA) from R Boy Apps to automate code generation and programming to my Schlage Encode lock.

Minimal shopping around and use of automated systems and tech will undoubtedly cut that by 30-50%.
