Newspaper/TV stories are only accurate to a point, and there could be all kinds of scenario not included.

I think I got very comfortable with watching all these shows on TV and so on that I got to the point where I started to think that I could just jump in and out anytime I wanted to. 

So you need to maybe double your initial number otherwise you may be stuck at home watching TV instead of being able to live your dreams.
