I'm 30 with a family of four, just bought my first primary home this year.

They filled out the application through apartments.com (used to be Cozy.co before it was acquired) where my screening criteria is posted and the application is hosted, and their annual income listed in the application is 1.25x rent.

What legal right do I have to do this?

If they refuse to pay you that amount, or reduce the purchase price by that amount, then you can decide whether you want to move forward with the purchase or not.I suspect it's not a large amount, so there's no need to make this a big issue. 

I'd recommend looking in our market. it's not as frequent as Akron. find a good agent in the market using the agent tool and I'm sure you'll be doing fine! 

This is as good a location as any? 

But these types of properties are readily available in this market for sure.

I'm however on a visa and was hoping to connect with anyone with experience doing this in the US or any real estate attorneys who could share the do's and dont's of real estate investing on a visa.
