@Saji Ijiyemi Essentially the substitute purchaser steps into the shoes of the high bidder... except in the case you describe not only would you be responsible for the high bid plus applicable buyer's premium (e.g., $100,000 high bid with a 10% buyers premium = sale price of $110,000), plus all the costs and expenses outlined in the auction terms, you would also be responsible for the assignment fee which would be paid to the original buyer/assignor.
