Buying a property based on video tours and pictures isn't the same as seeing it in person, plus all the renovation and repair issues, winter weather issues, hurricanes, etc.

Yesterday, I noticed a bike in the front yard which was not there when I did my initial inspection.I normally don't touch these kinds of properties (and try to avoid occupied properties in general), but it was so cheap I couldn't resist.

As we are almost empty-nesters we are moving to Savannah to grow our portfolio in the warmer weather and closer to the ocean.

It also has great recreation opportunities and fairly mild weather.  

Worth taking advice from those who operate in this market, as both low and high seasons weather the storm due to demand for theme parks.

Right now, if you can't scrape by at home you can't weather the volatility that physical real estate encompasses.

take that an no great weather issues and some of the absolute lowest prop tax's no income tax and now a company that can deal with squatters the way they should be dealt with.. 

Start to get clear on where you think a great place for you would be, considering job prospects, life, hobbies, weather.

I would personally stay away from coastal cities with insurance costs and weather risks.
