I did sell one of my personal residences on LO and that one did payoff.. but that was an executive that got transferred from his home state to our area wanted a nice home and they did convert within 9 months once their home sold and closed..

Many local businesses that operate in the downtown area by the state park (including some famous attractions) close for the winter or reduce hours.

We live in the bay area because this is where our jobs are and we have family in the area, but we prefer to invest in landlord friendly states.

We pay payroll taxes and workers comp, we comply with state and federal laws regarding work place safety, PTO, vacation, labor laws et al.

The boogeyman of evictions and landlord hostile cities/states should be a secondary concern.
