Am a native to the area, looking at investing in there.

As a native Californian and having been in CO for 10 years, the boom-bust cycles are annoying; might as well play at the casino. 

Has anyone worked with Robert And Pamela Smith Investment Limited PartnershipA Federally Recognized Native American Entity before?

I don't think that matters as much as getting it out there, much like a musician recording music on their bed with an iphone and being discovered by regular people.

I was first searching for small multifam properties, but have been getting more settled with the idea of a 3bd single family home with a basement that I can convert into another bedroom/studio (I'm a musician/drummer, so it would ideal to have an area I can work out of where I also live).

Believe me, I know my post sounds like something straight out of 1973, and sometimes it's even hard for me to wrap my head around, as while I'm a native to this area, I grew up largely in central coastal Florida, where prices are understandably quite disconnected from prices where I am currently.

I was hoping to get some insight from FL natives on where these sorts of investments would make sense.  

We live in a small town where I ran a market for several years and he was always in and out of the store ranting on about something for hours, sometimes wearing a dress, sometimes dressed as a rainbow or a native Indian (you just never knew). 

. - ahhh...the typical mistake of the non-native NYer...assuming that the rest of the state is the city.
