Because she is being neither serious nor sane right now, nor are the people around her making an effort, and the notice will clear some illusions and/or beta-amyloid out of her head.If you let this sit, eight months from now, at $515 rent or some token rent raise, you're still going to be asking her (when she deigns to pick up the phone to talk to the likes of you) why she hasn't found a roommate.

I believe that cash flow is actually an illusion in multi-family since we always re-invest it in the properties in one way or another in order to improve the quality of the buildings and/or increase revenues and value. 

If you want to get philosophical about it, are any of us really property "owners", or is it really just the illusion of ownership.
