Nobody wants to read an article about a family renting a house on airbnb and are having a swell vacation. 

I feel like I can make a go of these.....I just don't like the idea of bleeding $10-12k or more during the turnaround!!

YOu could buy a home there for 5k in the 80's well as SF bay area prices just rose through the roof.. these were the lowest price homes and those looking to move into the Hood did so and displaced the prior residence..

At the same time as my debt was swelling, I also was looking at going to Europe in a few short months, as I was the maid of honor in my best friends wedding.

Also, I'd like to bleed them too, although I know that will be in uphill battle.The trouble is my lawyer I hired has really done nothing. 

If the floors were refinished in place, there's a good chance the odor is just in the top layer and didn't bleed through into the subfloors, since polyurethane seals all the cracks and crevices of a wood floor when you put it down in place (another reason why I like finished in place versus prefinished wood flooring).

The steam can cause the door to swell, making it harder to close and putting wear on hinges.

You have been holding this property betting on future appreciation that's bleeding cash each month.
