If you go modular you have to start modular with your design so find an Architect that has done it before.

Do I need to get it surveyed, or first speak with an architect?

The house is structurally sound, and I have new architect drawings completed.

You will need good Chicago permit expediter, maybe even lawyer, and an architect to do the plans. 

It's kind of confusing because I'm expecting a "no" from them, but it's as if they want me to spend $4,000 - $5,000 on an architect to get the "no." lol

We're wondering if anyone knows an architect who's familiar with the process who can help walk us through the permitting process (we've done extensive renovations in the past, but never in this county).Also, would love to hear any pearls of wisdom from anyone who's renovated in SF (including working through the permitting process, anything you wish you knew before you started, regulations that are unique to SF, etc.)  

Hello, I am an architect in NY and I am taking a leap into developing my first project which ideally is a distressed single family house in Westchester County, NY.

Architect, geotechnical, engineer, permit fees, loan fees, interest and inspections during construction, etc.

We did consult with an architect and the options aren't ideal in terms of layout but it is possible (and expensive).

I have an architect friend that has been working on similar projects in the Bay Area and Truckee.
