Do the math - the park rental fees are often getting to the point where the monthly cost is not a lot different than a regular mortgage on a stick built house of similar quality, BUT YOU BUILD NO EQUITY!

For entities that exist to preserve the value and lifestyle of a community, HOA's don't seem to give a damn that investors are rescuing an often neglected home with a non-performing account, and turning them into a quality place to live with a HOA fee paying homeowner.Are others around the country seeing these outrageous fees, and is there anything that we can do to combat this?

To answer some of your follow up questions: There's no particular areas of the property that we're concerned about - the inspection with the engineer was excellent and it seems the quality of work on the property was to a high standard (no red flags).
