I would hate to open up my calendar for the next 6 months and then someone requests to book 2 months from now and then I lose an opportunity for a 3-month nurse contract or other longer stay.Is there a setting for this type of thing?

Construction companies and developers are more often run by engineers (or former engineers) than a teacher, accountant, doctor/nurse, lawyer, IT, etc.  

City in MD I live in is home to many young professionals, nurses, doctors, specialists, entrepreneurs, etc.

If you search Traveling Nurses you will find a boat load of options for posting available Housing to that market.

You've chosen a noble profession in nursing, so I'm not sure if you want to start a business while pursuing nursing -- that is a personal preference.

Unless you know that what you want to do requires a degree ( lawyer, nurse, teacher), I dont think a degree is the answer. 

If you do not want to start off too big, buy a condo, fix and rent etc.Fix and rent out as a corporate rental or to nurses etc

The last one is a nurse so I am assuming she will probably be sick at some point, and since I consider her and all the rest of the health care workers heros I will do anything I can to help out there. 

For many occupations the reason is salary - in Greenville, SC school nurses are paid less than 50% of what they earn where you live.

I just joined bp hoping that I would get more info and help even before I start with REI.My husband and I work full time as a registered nurse in NY but we are both tired of living paycheck per paycheck.We got our SFH thru FHA Loan 9 yes ago and now we're paying our monthly mortgage $3,980/month.We got our house for $440k and now our balance is around $380k.As per Zillow the value of our property now is $420k.We would like to try on Multi-family rentals to improve our income and to have a safety net in the future..If you're in our place what would you do to get started in RE?
