Hi everyone, I am looking to see if anyone in the BP community has had experience with retroactive permits for partly finishing a basement in a single family residence.

For one, it appears as though the scope of this work includes a requirement to attain a permit from the city of Middletown.

I've spoken with my realtor and it sounds like the builder is well aware of this deadline and is doing all they can to prioritize homes that could possibly be finished by then.

Your plan is most certainly attainable if you follow the correct steps and keep learning.

I will then move out of state with my cash to finish my undergraduate and hopefully be able to house hack that property.

@Travis HeppeI would always suggest putting money in your kitchen and bathroom finishes such as tile and maybe solid surface counters instead of laminate.

Once I finish all three of these projects I plan to get more properties with investors and save up enough to get an airbnb by myself.
