I felt this was a temporary situation as a few strong sales would allow these neighborhoods to rise to the prices commanded by similar neighborhoods throughout the metro area that were not similarly afflicted.

Granted, we are on the Eastern shore of MD- maybe those rates for good work don't fly in certain areas?

Hey BiggerPockets community- I'm curious if anybody has had success (or experience) investing along the Jersey Shore with short term rentals? 

Are they stricter than other places along the shore, if you can Airbnb condos, etc.

Personally I would not allow them to do it but it is your decision and you could try it on a temporary bases to begin.

It was not fun, but it was worth it and my temporary sacrifice paved the way for my financial future.

Is it safe to assume that you use off shore agents?

The south shore is insane for 2 families (typically $700,000+) but the north shore you can find them in the 5’s and 6’s usually.

I recall hearing that on show 35 that Paula just hires a temporary property manager to handle it. 

The occupant happens to be a family member my father is allowing to stay for free (on a temporary basis - but we'll see how that goes).
