I am looking at a property near Chicago and plan on closing very soon.

Is there anything specific that would make a deal stand out for you?

I have had their inspectors ask for things not in the approved plans, but I also have had them not raise concerns about work that maybe should have been on a permit.  

Bought well under what we could afford with the plan of living in it and renting it out in the future.

 Be specific when getting the quote.. quote may not include..

🤣I'm sure the same comments will keep flowing in regardless, but if you read through the thread, you'll see that I abandoned my specific issue and just wanted to know, "what exactly is the law, though?"
