Talk with the host and say thanks for putting the meetup together and let him/her know what you're looking for. 

The majority of posts I have been seeing from local short-term rental hosts have been about shifting away from this strategy to a more traditional rental / lease agreement.I do think this model will survive the pandemic, I would be cautious of this strategy at the moment unless I was certain that property could support itself as a traditional rental if necessary.

The best way to know this is to do the "cloud work" (define your vision, values, and principles) before and during doing the "dirt work" (owning and operating investment properties).

Join the local REI club and its a host of Facebook groups out there to link with local investors and wholesalers.
