I have had a verbal acceptance before on a house and the agent said that I would get their signatures the following day since the sellers were old school and don't use docusign. 

I own in South Charlotte and Pineville...I really like MOST parts of Pineville because great schools (loved by longterm renters) and safe / quiet area.

I graduated from Cypress Bay Highschool there and grew up in that area.

After a divorce and some recent changes to my W2 job status ... left my employer of 22 years and now contract directly with the same school districts I have provided IT support to for the past 20+ years ... which increased my annual income by $35,000, of course taxes and health insurance have to come out of that $35k, I feel like I am on the right path.On the REI side of things I have an overall understanding of getting started.

The other comment about the schools there by another poster above is also a red flag.As for the comments about Decatur growing - I am not seeing the data for that.

I know one of the tenants a little because he was a few years ahead of me in high school but the rest I don’t know.

I know some people still are "old school" and literally hand their accountant a shoebox full of receipts that they have written notes on them. 

What are some areas with good school districts worth looking into?
