How long did the project take?

I'm in the union on long island so I have a decent W2 job to help get started, I think a house hack would be my best bet starting out but, what do you guys think?

You mention long term, ok let's say 10yr which is a really long time, that certainty of a decade has value does it not, ok let's assign that value. 

Agreed, last deal I had in Jersey city was lost due to really bad plumbing and electrical issues, on a older mixed use building. 

Having a local handyman or someone you know to look over the property is helpful, but I think you can do without property management if you are dealing with long-term rentals.
