The agent makes money whether you do or not and, furthermore, their bias is towards to the seller! 

(Obviously my opinion is biased) I would try self managing for a while and see how you like it.

I own a PM company so I am biased but what I find is most people don't know WTH they are doing with managing rental properties.

I am allergic to cats so have an obvious bias and don’t allow them period their smell can do far more damage than a typical dog will do.
