my kids were in school there etc. this was Circa 1992 to 2001. rents did not move much in PDX those years today I bet that apartment is 1500.00

It's a cute house, in a nice suburb, with good schools, and job growth so I want it to be a long-term hold.  

We do a company sweep on the 15th and last day of each month.Many old-school PMC's still pay once/month at the end of the month because they aren't embracing technology.

Because of the good schools and amenities that area is always a good long-term appreciation bet.Happy to connect and talk more to see what might be the best fit.

I try to help mentor my high school students about investing (if they're interested - only a handful have been) and it's culminated with playing "Cashflow" a few times as a group. 

Question: I'm deciding between going back to school for either architectural technology or structural engineering as a background to help me in my flips.

I search for properties in A or B towns that have strong school systems, low crime, and good reputations.

2015: Graduated university & started working at a consulting firm in NYC2016: Caught the REI itch, started researching markets and reading BP, etc religiously2017: Landed on Newark, NJ as a target market.

The schools aren't as good, the municipal services aren't as good, the demand is lower, rents are lower, expect less appreciation.

I started at 18 out of high school from the ground up, fast forward 3.5 years later I'll close 90-100 deals and expanding to another market.
