Then if they chose the City of Detroit they wouldn't want to live in that section of town, there isn't even a grocery store, gas station or pharmacy within 2 miles of Southwestern HS.  

The UC is going to build their administration building downtown and there will be 100's of new workers stationed there.

I have considered looking into the Huntsville or College Station area for the lower cost of entry and the fact that someone always needs a place to rent in college towns.

I'm in College Station about an hour from The Woodlands.

A lot of my investors like SWFL ( cape coral, Lehigh acres , port charlotte and North Port area) within the Texas triangle or outskirts of Dallas, college station or Tyler.
