There are suburbs around me that have expanded rapidly with new housing developments in dire need of medical facilities like urgent care and commercial retail, etc…vs driving to the city.

One of the many reasons I LOVE investing in assisted living facilities. 

I left college at 20 and have been trying to do self storage facilities with a family member but nothing to show so far but a 14 acre parcel we own.

Depends on the city and Government regulations, and how many lots, you may have to invest in common utilities/facilities (roads, parking, water, sanitary sewer, fire water requirements, storm sewer, to mention few), making the cost per sqft higher, and that's a chunk of $$.

You might even consider renting  storage facility for one month for them. 

Looking over at the regulations of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), if I'm not mistaken, they only have jurisdiction over facilities that house at least 17 residences.

I have a background as an HVAC technician and have a general knowledge of facility maintenance and a solid group of contractors I could use as partners.

I am going to be acquiring a 16 bed 8 room ALF facility through foreclosure.
