We have been sharing a car since 2020 in different households when she worked from home and attended college online.She worked and studied, maintained good grades and was compensated for it via her school and the system.

I've learned that the unexpected always happens, whether it's delays or unforeseen expenses, so having a system in place to monitor finances regularly helps make adjustments before they become bigger issues.

If the awnser is better systems, what would be a practical way to resolve a situation like this.

Agree, Ring or some other camera monitoring  system, security systems will  have issues with alarms &  beeping and other issues which might be a nuisance for guests. 

This includes, water, hot water, heat, air conditioning, cable, security system, snow removal, lawn care.
