I've been asking some of the Vice Presidents at my job if they or anyone they know are heavily involved in real estate that may be willing to mentor a newbie.

In the past I have also served as an advisor to the local Housing Authority Directors and a past president and past Executive Director  on Landlord issues.  

I have 5 years experience working with them, I was the President of a 160 unit HOA they managed for us.
