However, I would suggest making sure you come in with equity in those rentals.I would also make sure you have 3 - 6 months emergency cash for your peace of mind stored away.

It wouldn't be expensive to just pay for a quick consult and I would think the peace of mind (and avoiding the possibility and liability of handling the situation incorrectly) would make it money well spent.
