“What a weird way to make my point for meCorktown is Detroit; Indian Village is Detroit; Boston Edison is Detroit; Hubbard Farms is Detroit; Palmer Woods is Detroit.

During my short 3 day stint I was able to talk to crews on the grounds working on projects in the Boston Edison Area, randomly have a friendly new owner walk me through his gutted Atkinson historical home while picking his brain for about an hour.

My focus is really on the Boston, Greater Boston or indeed New England in general.   

I love Boston.

My area in boston is expensive so I am looking to buy elsewhere.

We have been looking for our first investment property all across the greater Boston area.

My current method is to look at 5 key metrics to narrow down to 5 states and then narrow down further to 5 specific areas from those states- all in this order of importance :1- population growth/“opportunity”2- crime rates3- education4- landlord favorability5- economic stabilityOnce I have narrowed down further I would also likely include a few other potential things like public transport, specific school ratings etc.Is my approach way off? 

I know boston is expensive but I am sure their are smaller towns 1-2 hours away that have lower priced housing.

I am from Boston and thankfully live in Florida now.
