I think lenders, private or otherwise, will be greater influenced by legislation at the state level than the presidential election.

The Borrower still has the default on their credit which will influence eligibility for a couple of years.  

The servicer couldn't force the seller to sign a contract, but they could certainly influence it based on deficiency amounts they'd require.
