I heard that it has to be your first property and that sense it is my first home I ever buy it would technically be considered my primary residence if I were to buy it right now and rent it out until I get back to the States (if I were to buy a multi-family property and wanted to live in one of the units so I can house hack).I have called the VA multiple times and I have gotten both answers so I am not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do because I do not want to ruin my chances of using this if I use it inappropriately.

Even if there's a small chance of getting caught, I'm not going to risk 18 months in the clink plus big fines and having my loan called plus ruining my creditworthiness just for a lower rate personally, but I'm not a gambling man.

It's like opening a stand selling an "elixer cure for cancer", charging top dollar, and when they die and relatives come back pointing out the fine print of "do your due dilligence".Yes, DO do your due dilligence, but a scam is a scam, period.
