The previous owner must have been upset about his/her loss because there were holes in almost every wall, lights pulled from the ceiling, appliances damaged, etc.

We used a private money lender who supplied 90% of the rehab money and I supplied the rest@Henry Good unless you are going for a light rehab (ie. paint and flooring) conventional lending will not work.

Specifically, go with LED bulbs(not the lousy ones from Ace hardware, but good ones with nice light quality,) and a .8 gallon per flush toilet(from Home Depot- Niagara Stealth) and a 1.75 gpm showerhead.

In many European countries (not sure about Holland) you will find the house will be bare on moving in so you will need to buy stoves, curtain rails, carpets, light fittings...you name it.
