There were still good deals to be found in 2018 in my original market and I did see some nice ones in 2019 across the country when I was doing a lot of research as to where to move as Los Angeles traffic and high taxes finally got on my nerves (and my L.A. house is worth way more than it should be so I want to cash out).

The problem with our unit is the noise levels too - the construction between flooring is shoddy and the contractor who did the work above also didn't do a great job factoring sound insulation in, so we can hear everything and especially heavy foot traffic (not sure how much of a factor this will play into renting our unit out as well btw)

As tenants we’ve made a point to cover all of the high traffic hardwood flooring with area rugs so that when we eventually move out everyone is happy.
