Instead of raising rent and scaring them away (their leases are both month to month right now) I was hoping to work with CHA to get them qualified for the voucher program but I need to register my property first.I believe I also need to register as a vendor with the City of Chicago first and I am curious if anyone has advice on that process or how long it takes as well. 

He ended up losing his voucher.  

The only real difference is you will only weight the part of the monthly rent they have to come up with that is not covered by their voucher. 

It is not your standard section 8 vouchers...

We have a place that we have some section 8 applicants and I'm wondering since the rental subsidy voucher is only under one of the renter's name, does the other tenants who are 18 and up be subject to the same screening process credit + background check as the main tenant who will be paying rent from the voucher? 

Nothing stays vacant here.With specifically Section 8 housing, I think there are more vouchers issued here than there are section 8 units. 

They know they have a great deal and don't want to lose their voucher.

If you fail both you will not be able to use that property for the voucher program.

I've checked out GoSection8.com, read countless articles, and can't figure out how you get started accepting vouchers and making sure that the property meets section 8 requirements.
