@theresa I agree.. the more I think about it, the more skeptical I get that even if the Dept of Buildings approve it as an Airbnb, if that's enough grounds to stand on legally if an Airbnb client reports/sues me because of, I don't know, a medical injury because of hitting their head on the short ceiling (even if I disclose info about the ceiling upfront on the listing).

If not I will try to refinance and then either pull the trigger on furnishing the home for STR (cleaners and handymen were hired/ interviewed on the trip out,) and still have the boots on the ground in case of emergency.. or just long term rental and refinance, repeat…Not a perfect deal, but I learned a ton!

The contractor causes injury to someone visiting the property (instpector, delivery person, etc.).  

I've always wanted to do this and joined the forum briefly ~2 years ago but never pulled the trigger (really wish I had back then!).

The positive is that you are in control and you can make sure it is done right and hopefully prevent and injuries that a lazy tenant may cause if he doesn't timely shovel.

@Zachary Barton I didn't pull the trigger on a STR, but was impressed with Hoasty.co when I did my due diligence.
