So this might be strange and it might even be a good thing, I'm not sure, so I need some help deciphering the situation.In my duplex in Dallas I have tenants that has been with me for almost 2 years now, they have been awesome, pay on time for the most part and keep the place very very clean and tidy.However about 6 months ago they started to complain about little issues every time I saw them.Part of the weather stripping needs to be replace, the threshold needs to be repainted, need a timer to water the foundation.

It was a foreclosure so there were holes in many of the walls so we had to repair drywall and re-paint the whole house, but it was definitely worth it.

We primed and repainted the whole place and washed the carpet (tide and bleach) but there is still a smoke smell probably from the carpet (and maybe the blinds which are in great condition but are covered with tar).

Another example was a small dent in a wall that didn't need to be filled in that I puttied anyway... then realized that was one of the few walls in the house that I wasn't going to repaint and I didn't have the original paint color.

For this purpose, they probably won't be the pre-finished variety, but rather ones that need to be completely stripped, re-painted, etc.
