My total expense ratio on each property I own ranges anywhere from 40%-50% annually, but I also self-manage and am not a slumlord (I am pro-active with maintenance, not reactive).

They do public debt funds, apartment complexes (in Southern California and the Southeast), car washes and self storage.

Agreed with the above that the ROW agent likely went along with you because it kept you from getting your defenses up, and also that there is little to no reason they need to compensate anything here. 

Oh, forgot to mention, this was prior to self rent rules.
