I have systems in place for everything, and virtually everything that can be automated is; in fact, I sometimes quasi-manage properties for other landlords when they don't have the time/ability to do it themselves, letting them piggyback off of my systems to get their places rented (for a fee, of course 😋).

Numbers are nice, but I am much more interested in optimizing the facets of the business, automating, best practices, keeping costs low, getting guests longterm in the door and converting to direct book, creating stunning spaces, dealing with risk, etc. 

I also fully recognize that STRs are not passive investments and require a lot of time and effort until I can begin to automate it.I've been primarily looking in the Poconos as that is a destination that is familiar to me and one of which my family has been to many times.

I do some pretty creative stuff and automated contract software would be pretty useless to me.

Some additional tips include automating your savings through automatic transfers, tracking your progress with budgeting apps or spreadsheets, cutting unnecessary expenses, and exploring side hustles for extra income.
