We use SmartMove by TransUnion for credit and criminal background checks. 

If the bank goes under the FDIC can also go after the committee board criminally in some cases and it has happened.They want FULL UNLIMITED recourse against the borrower. 

Having a subscription to a public records background check is very handy and for a minimal fee you can run background checks on the Sponsor including but not limited to civil lawsuits, criminal records, liens, judgments, bankruptcies, etc...

The bigger the buffer, the less likely they’re going to stiff you on the last day of the month because other bills got to them first.The next piece of the puzzle is the criminal record.

I liked the site and the price ($60 for 2 tenants which included past address history, nationwide criminal record search, eviction records, and credit report with credit score), but I did not like that they would not give me the report until the tenant logged into their e-mail and authorized the credit/background checks even though I had the tenants' social security numbers. 

Hello Levant,I am not sure about NY but here in Florida, most section 8 tenants are not approved with previous evictions or felony criminal records.

Do you run background/criminal in order they are received and once you have an approved applicant, stop?
