We replaced the electrical outlets in a house when painting trim and realized afterwards code requires tamper resistant outlets now...never even knew they existed and got standard ones.

Purchase price: $144,900 Cash invested: $32,475 Sale price: $220,000 This was a fairly straight forward project:- New floors (carpet in bedrooms; LVP everywhere else)- paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets, etc- new bathrooms (re used the tubs)- new electrical (plugs, switches, fixtures)- a handful of exterior things; retaining wall, clean siding, rear door, etc.- typical punchlist items; blinds, knobs, hardware for cabinets and drawers.

However, in my experience they still disappoint me from time to time.My theory is that the ones that have the skill set that makes them great at detail oriented work (i.e. framing, tile, trim, etc) rarely have the additional and completely different skill set of business skills (i.e. communication, scheduling, and money management).
