Hey I have a property that I'm going to renting out.

Unfortunately their home was a total loss due to a tree falling, so I have agreed to rent them my STR as a long-term furnished rental while their home is being rebuilt. 

We’ll also collect rent and pay expenses via our LLC and its new respective bank account(s).  

The IRS doesn't allow tax breaks for self-dealing and I don't see how you would benefit.For example, rent comes to you for $1,000.

They are counting on lower rates, higher rents and lower cap rates and a ten year hold, all to give me a very low 5-15% total return over a ten year hold!.
