In the end they had a business model I bought into it and it didn't work out.

My car has a valet mode where I can lock my trunk and glovebox so if someone smashes a window they can't get into the trunk without a key or physically cutting into the metal.

For if you are forced in the role to ask, you will resent, as its stressful, pressure, takes up YOUR time, and unfairly puts you in the work mode to approach.

Typically, the extended stay model is done on a weekly basis.

The amount is too small to launch into accusatory mode.  

They get into bully mode, and the best way to deal with bullies is to call their bluff, while looking amenable at the same time.Or, at least that's been my experience and what has worked for me.  

Once the rehab is finished, I switch over to finding a new house mode.

Lots of 1031 folks wanting to move into passive mode. 

And right now I’m in learning mode to get a feel for the area.

One thing to think about is what your normal business model is.
