Not to throw salt in a wound here but, it sounds as if there was a lot of mismanagement.  

Yes we wound up not selling that unit and adding another 3 bedroom in the same village. 

We wound up moving out to TN full time to invest and house hack, but that's how we viewed it when we were living in LA.

I rarely wish harm anyone, but I will smile after the next downturn when some of these over bidders start licking their wounds.

The movie wound up being a "very good deal" for Clooney because he was paid based on a percentage of box-office revenue, which was a big box office hit.

Current price is $195,000 but to get space Upgraded I wound estimate $20-$25K.Both units are already rented so trying to figure out best options.I was thinking buying and fixing up but allowing current renters to stay at current price for one year and then be able to increase rent.
